Dear Sailing Friends
It is with a really heavy heart that I say goodbye to a very dear friend and a wonderful human being.
Peter Hishen passed away last night after suffering a stroke on Friday morning.
Peter never had a bad word to say about anyone, always had a smile, would go out of his way to ensure that we had the parts we needed to enable us to sail.
The younger sailors always had a special place in his heart, he always made them feel special and was always prepared to assist with sponsorships when it involved juniors.
Pete, I know that I am not alone when I say that I am going to miss having a cold beer and a chat with you at the shop, somehow the chats always involved sailing, fishing and fun times around water.
Our sincere condolences to Pippa, Gavin, Gina, Dave and Ciara in this difficult time.
The family will be holding an informal get together on Friday at 15:00 at Morningside Country Club, and the family have requested donations to http://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/petehishin in lieu of flowers.

| A good fleet of 108 boats participated in PSC's annual Charity Regatta. Six races were sailed, in conditions ranging from 7 knots down to nothing. Wind at this time of year is a lottery, but at least rain wasn't a problem for this weekend. The main sponsor for this event was Biddulphs International. Proceeds from this event go to the National Sea Rescue Institute. |

Ah well – The fat lady has sung!
Congratulations to Streetcar. They have consistently sailed in the top three throughout the series. Their worst result, a third place which they were able to discard. Rob Wilcox skippered the L26, assisted by his crew – Ingrid Wilcox, Ditmar Herrman, CJ Milne. A very impressive performance, but don’t rest for too long, I know of some hot competition who can’t wait to challenge you for supremacy in forthcoming races. |
